When so many people enjoy a camp, you have to have some rules. Not to hinder or blame, but to know what to expect from eachother. If you treat others and their possessions like you want to be treated, nothing can go wrong. There is also some points that need special attention: We are a Scouting campsite. Please pay particular attention to our garbage and fire regulations.
Make sure the members of your group are familiar with these regulations and act accordingly.
The camp price includes the use of facilities such as pioneer wood, firewood and toilet and showers, excluding electricity, canoes, tables and benches, tents and pioneer rope.
On arrival at the site, the responsible leadership reports to the camp staff.
Facilities can be booked with the camp staff. This also applies to the central campfire pits.
All groups present on site help to keep the toilet block clean. The camp staff sets a schedule for this purpose and provides cleaning supplies.
For the use of terrain and materials, as well as for dealing with nature, standards as are customary within Scouting apply. If in doubt, the camp staff can clarify this for you.
Indications of bad behaviour are binding, and if they are not responded to, the camp staff has the authority to send away one or more members of or the whole group, and refuse (or have refused) the group in the future.
Because of the soil condition cars are not allowed in the camp site.
Parking is possible on the connecting road to the Noordweg and further on the instructions of the camp staff.
Several carts and wheelbarrows are available for transporting luggage and equipment. These will be returned after use.
At the entrance to the site, there is space to park two trailers, in consultation with the camp staff. If these spaces are occupied, trailers will remain in the car park. Campers should provide their own locks. Trailers may not be placed on the paths or on the camping fields.
Cycling on the campsite is not allowed. Bicycles should be kept in the bicycle parking lot.
Dogs are not allowed at the campsite.
No digging or driving piles into the ground is allowed. This also applies to trenches around tents.
Between 23:00 and 7:00 there will be quiet on the campsite.
On departure, the group ensures that the used fields, the fire pits and their immediate surroundings are empty, borrowed materials have been returned to the camp staff, and the rubbish has been put in the container before the responsible leadership signs off.
In case of an emergency the SOS signal (··· / — — — / ···
) will be given. Everybody need to gather on the parking lot.
Those cases not covered by these camp rules will be judged by the camp staff.
Fire-making on the campsite is only allowed in the dug in metal trays.
When the fire is lit, at least one bucket of water must be nearby.
Flames may not be higher than 1 metre (3 feet) above the fire tray.
Absolutely no fire is allowed outside the trays.
For large campfires, make arrangements about time and place of your campfire with the warden, either in the small campfire-circle or in the large theatre.
Gathering of firewood: There are two woodpiles on the campsite: one near the small campfire circle and one near the main-entrance of the campsite. You can use this wood for fire making. Of course you should chop it up first.
The stacks of branches you find all over the site are not to be touched. They are like hedge-rows and important to the ecology of the campsite. Pulling out wood and branches disturbs their function.
Twigs and branches you find on the ground of your campsite and around it you may use as firewood.
Only pallets approved of by the warden may be used as firewood.
Ashes and leftover firewood: let the fires burn as long as possible, so that all the wood is burnt to ashes in the morning. It is all right if embers still glow in the metal tray. Just make sure no flames rise above the tray and that all inflammable material around it has been removed.
Throwing some logs on the fire just before you finish and then putting it out by pouring a few buckets of water over it, is a definite no.
Before leaving, unused firewood is to be returned to the woodpiles. Partly burnt and scorched wood is to be brought to the warden.
Do not throw the ashes into the bushes. This is extremely harmful to plants and animals.
Upon leaving the fire tray should be empty. Shovel hot ashes into a wheelbarrow and dispose of them in the hot-ashes barrel.
Two waste containers are available on the campsite. Emptying the container is expensive. It is therefore very important to keep your waste to a minimum.
Try to reduce your waste to a minimum.
Garbage bags should be tied tightly before being put in the container.
Make the waste as small as possible. Flatten cans, boxes, etc.
Burn cardboard and paper, so no cardboard boxes in the container.
Glass and cans do not belong in the container, but are offered by the campers themselves for the deposit or taken to the bottle bank.
Bulky waste, such as broken chairs or tents, old iron and small chemical waste do not belong in the container and must be disposed of by the campers themselves.
For groups departing from summer camps: don’t throw away any non-perishable leftover food that you don’t take with you, but collect it at the camp staff for the groups that arrive.
